Course Summary

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to explore and reflect on the relationship between the external gender equity policy environment and the internal workplace policy and practice applicable to a work context and identify measures for improvement.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
This unit supports the attainment of skills and knowledge to review internal workplace policies and procedures applicable to a work context against the external environment, from a gender equity perspective.
It includes scoping the legislation, regulation and workplace standards environment of gender equity policy and practice and then reviewing internal policy and practice applicable to a work context to identify gaps and next steps for incorporating gender equity in the workplace. It also reviews how other policies relating to equity and inclusion may intersect with gender equity policy and practice applicable to a work context.
This unit applies to practitioners and professionals with varying degrees of responsibility working in roles that require an understanding of gender equity. This unit enhances the ability to analyse workplace policy and practice environment within known work environments
