Course Summary
Contemporary business - regardless of size or industry - operates not just within domestic legal frameworks, but international ones too. This course provides you with an overview of the various international legal and regulatory regimes that govern and impact the conduct of business and global commerce, and the institutions that support them. This course will examine the impact of State-based international law, and 'soft-law' legal instruments that seek to regulate international commercial activities - including international trade law and international protections over intellectual property, international contract law pertaining to the international sale of goods and the transport of those goods overseas. You will develop an understanding of the value and relevance of international commercial and trade law to the conduct of modern business enterprises, and how international commercial disputes are resolved.
