Course Summary
In this course, you will be provided with a broad introduction to aerospace engineering by considering various topics related to the role, function and operation of aircraft and spacecraft vehicles. You will learn the fundamental science underpinning aerodynamics, propulsion and structures coupled to aerospace applications. You will have an opportunity to explore attributes and limitations relating to the atmosphere and examine the anatomy and configuration of air- and spacecraft. Other areas of study include stability and control and high-speed flight. Emerging technologies and contemporary issues in aviation are also addressed to facilitate an understanding of emerging challenges in the 21st century. The course gives an appreciation of aerospace systems from a holistic perspective to better contextualise domain specific knowledge further in the program.
