Course Summary

The rise of multinational enterprises (MNEs) and the globalisation of the world economy is arguably the most important economic phenomenon of recent times.
This course provides the economic analysis of MNEs and globalisation for future business leaders. We will examine and assess (i) globalisation and its effects on society, (ii) the determinants of firms' choice to be multinationals, (iii) foreign direct investment (FDI) and its types, (iv) the effects of MNEs and FDI on home and host economies and the resulting policy implications.
