Course Summary

This course provides you with a capstone experience, which will give you the opportunity to integrate, critically reflect on and consolidate the learning from your Human Resource Management program. The purpose of the course is to incorporate human resource and employment relation theory and practice. It adopts a holistic approach to integrating theory and practice in an innovative method of hypothesising about what the future of human resource management will look like. The development of research, critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills are accentuated to examine and discuss future trends in managing people. You will have the opportunity to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired from other HRM courses throughout the program and to review and evaluate current issues facing organisations, management and labour. This course will help shape an appreciation of the complexities and contemporary challenges employees and managers face as they strive to function in the changing environment and the interrelationships between work and society. The course maximises peer to peer collaborative learning, reflecting the increased importance of team approaches to managing and resolving real people management challenges.
