Course Summary
The aim of this course is to introduce the students to biomedical engineering profession. This course will provide an insight into multidisciplinary areas of human systems and assistive technology, the design and operation of devices and processes, and the application of engineering skills to new medical treatments, instruments, and biomedical equipment.
The course is primarily concerned with professional practice and engineering systems for your ongoing professional development that you will undertake as a professional biomedical engineer throughout your career. Course topics will be covered by pre-recorded lectures, tutorials, interactive workshops, practical/laboratory classes, and a team-based design project.
This course includes a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience.
