Course Summary

This course introduces you to key concepts of quality management and leadership in modern organisations. Quality organisation improves productivity and business culture, sustains its resilience, supports innovation and its adaptation to dynamic business environments. You will gain knowledge in leadership aspects and human resource management required to champion these concepts in an ethical and sustainable way.
The course will cover critical aspects of in lean manufacturing such as continuous improvement, just-in-time production, 'pull' philosophy and total quality management (TQM). The course also focuses on the methods and tools commonly used to analyse the existing state of a business environment, including value stream mapping, Kaizen cycle, six sigma and capability index. Illustrated with case studies and worked examples, the course will examine the socio-technical interactions within a modern business organisation and develop skills and processes for implementing changes for achieving agile organisation and its global competitiveness.
