This course introduces you to key concepts of quality management and leadership in modern organisations. The course will cover critical aspects of in lean manufacturing such as continuous improvement, just-in-time production, 'pull' philosophy and total quality management (TQM). The course also focuses on the methods and tools commonly used to analyse the existing state of a business environment, including value stream mapping, Kaizen cycle, six sigma and capability index. Illustrated with case studies and worked examples, the course will examine the socio-technical interactions within a modern business organisation and develop skills and processes for implementing changes for achieving agile organisation and its global competitiveness.
