This course brings together relevant knowledge from the disciplines of chemistry and physics to provide comprehensive understanding of nanoscience, nanomaterials, and nanotechnology. This course aims to provide a fundamental understanding of the physical and chemical phenomena unique to materials at the nanoscale.
Nanomaterials for Energy brings together discipline-based knowledge and skills to synthesise nanoscale materials and analyse these materials using sophisticated instrumental techniques.?The core knowledge developed in this course is placed in the context of commercial applications in nanoscience and nanotechnology as well as current cutting-edge research directions in nanotechnology.
The course also aims to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills in nanotechnology, chemistry, and physics - skills that all scientists require during their career. In this course you will build upon your knowledge in key areas of physical chemistry and enable you to apply this knowledge to other cross-disciplinary areas.
This course features Industry Embedded Activities (IEA), where you will receive insights into how the skills and knowledge gained in this course are applied in real workplace contexts.
