Course Summary

In this course you will expand upon foundational nursing knowledge and skills gained in Principles and Practice of Nursing A and Foundational Anatomy & Physiology courses. You will learn a range of patient assessment techniques to be used in conjunction with clinical reasoning.
The course will also introduce you to a range of diagnostic procedures and nursing skills such as aseptic non-touch technique, simple wound dressings, basic life support and wound management. Content will include exploring the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, particularly in relation to infection control risks associated with the health care environment.
