Course Summary

This course will continue your nursing knowledge and skills, drawing on the anatomy and physiology of all body systems introduced in previous courses. Evidence-based care for patients with a range of acute and chronic disease processes will be explored using the framework and direction of the Australian National Health Priority Areas. Knowledge of pathophysiological processes will be integrated to support the nursing care required to ensure efficient, effective, and person-centred care of?patients. ?Strategies for risk reduction and early detection of disease processes will also be examined. Nursing skills in this course will be developed in the simulated health environment including the application of critical thinking and clinical reasoning.
