Course Summary

This course includes a work integrated learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.
Standards and ethics in nursing will encourage you to critically examine the legal and ethical frameworks that underpin the accountabilities of the Registered Nurse to promote safe person-centred practice. You will apply legal and ethical aspects of care to a range of clinical situations. Mandatory reporting, risk management, as well as other contemporary issues will be explored. The course will help strengthen your understanding of the standards for practice of the Registered Nurse (2016) and relevant regulatory guidelines.
