Course Summary

This course is identified by RMIT University as a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experience in which knowledge and skills will be practiced within the university simulated health environment, applied and assessed in a clinical workplace context, as feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your professional experiences.

This course will provide students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge taught in medical surgical nursing, and pharmacology courses. Students will work in the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop knowledge and skills in medical surgical care, including safe medication management and how nursing care is contextualised in the management of acute and chronic disease.

An assessment requirement for this course requires students to complete clinical placement within a healthcare setting. To be eligible to undertake clinical placement, students must meet certain mandated documentation and immunisation requirements.
