Course Summary

In this course, you will learn about the impact of colonisation, intergenerational trauma, and contemporary social factors on the social, cultural, environmental, and economic determinants of health for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
You will explore how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultural strengths, knowledge, and practices contribute to holistic wellbeing and healing at individual and community levels.
You will develop an understanding of principles of cultural safety, cultural sensitivity, and respectful engagement to apply in your professional practice across health care policy, service delivery, research, and community health promotion.
