Introduction to Osteopathic Clinical Practice and Osteopathic Clinical Practice 1-3.

Each clinical practice course requires 24 weeks of clinical attendance.

This course is a clinical placement Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experience with the placement occurring in the teaching clinic at Bundoora. You will undertake approximately 96 hours of WIL experience. The WIL experience provides you with simulated and/or face-to-face placement at the RMIT Health Clinic to provide you with training to meet professional clinical capabilities/competencies for this course.

You will engage in Semi-Autonomous practice, seeing patients on a rostered clinic shift under supervision. You may have an opportunity for your WIL Placement to be in a community clinic sourced by the School or self-sourced. Community clinical placements, whether sourced by the School or self-sourced require WIL agreements fully executed by all parties.

As part of the WIL experience, your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/or community is integral to your experience. Students with long-term medical condition/s and/or disability should contact the Course Coordinator or the Equitable Learning Service for further advice. You must meet the inherent requirements of the program.

At any time prior to or during placement if concerns are raised regarding student fitness to practice the clinical coordinator can request a full medical clearance to continue placement.
