This course is the third of a series of four method courses designed to develop your knowledge and skills to teach in your chosen specialist discipline area(s) in secondary school settings.

This course will provide you with a comprehensive knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy in your chosen specialised discipline area(s) for teaching post-compulsory certificates. You will collaborate with your peers to facilitate a student-centred learning environment in order to practise innovative and engaging pedagogies for senior secondary students. You will also develop their capacity to plan lesson sequences at the senior level, to differentiate learning and to determine students' knowledge using formative and summative assessment. This course will prepare you with the skills and capacities to participate as a competent and reflective member of the teaching profession.
