In this course you will explore the relationship between gender, communication, and social change in a range of local and global contexts. Utilising perspectives from gender, cultural and communication studies, you will examine how gender impacts social and cultural transformation in intersection with axes such as race, sexuality, class, and (dis)ability. You will investigate theories of participatory communication and evaluate their capacity to disrupt traditional gender hierarchies and intersecting forms of oppression. This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to apply participatory communication techniques to engage with diverse and complex community needs, empower participants through dialogue, and encourage sustainable change.
