Course Summary

This applied clinical therapeutics course equips you with the knowledge and skills to manage medication therapy for patients with conditions affecting systems such as the skin, gastrointestinal tract, liver, pain, and infections. Building on your foundational studies in physiology, chemistry and pharmacology, the course integrates advanced understanding of pathophysiology and pharmacological interventions with a strong focus on real-world clinical application.
You will explore the contemporary role of the pharmacist in disease prevention and management, while learning to provide, monitor, and optimise medication therapy. The course also introduces foundational concepts in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (QSAR)-essential tools for understanding drug action and guiding therapeutic decisions.
Through case-based learning and applied assessments, you'll develop the clinical reasoning and communication skills needed to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
