Course Summary

This course will provide you with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing technologies for aerospace and allied industry applications.
The course will encompass main properties, processing techniques, fabrication processes, emphasising both conventional materials and new materials for aerospace applications. This course will explore interrelationships between materials selection, manufacturing technology, engineering design and product lifecycle as relevant for aeronautical and space sectors. It will provide you with the knowledge and skills of the broad range of engineering materials required to enable the design process of aerospace structures and components considering a systematic material selection process.
Furthermore, the course will also expose the state-of-the-art materials topics and assess pathways for developing aerospace structures and components with optimised features. The knowledge and skills acquired in this course are essential for all engineers involved with the design and analysis of aerospace vehicles.
If you are enrolled in this course as a component of your Bachelor Honours Program, your overall mark will contribute to the calculation of the Weighted Average Mark (WAM).
