Course Summary

Working with communities and being aware of community interests is central to spatial and social planning. Such engagement includes formalised techniques and approaches, but also planned interventions that integrate social, cultural, spatial and environmental contexts. In this course you will explore how to interpret social contexts and their dynamics, the basis of community engagement in planning practice, as well as the application of specific techniques for working with communities on spatial planning issues that recognise diverse needs and interests.
