Course Summary

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to determine fabric performance and handling requirements and to match those requirements to suitable fabrics for the design or production of textile products. Textile products may be apparel or other non-wearable items.
In this course you will acquire the skills and knowledge to identify and match fibres and fabrics commonly used in the construction of garments with accessories.
This includes identifying a wide range of fibres and fabrics used in the clothing industry. Fibres include natural and synthetic, and fabrics include knitted, woven and non-woven.
