Course Summary

This course aims to provide you with a capstone experience that enables you to consolidate, critically reflect on and integrate the knowledge and skills you have acquired in your program. It includes a work integrated learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.
The primary objective of this capstone and WIL course is to provide you with practical experience in executing cybersecurity projects. You will learn how to analyse cybersecurity risks in information systems, develop effective solutions, implement mitigation strategies, and evaluate and document their effectiveness.
As part of a project team comprising 4 to 6 students, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively and undertake industry projects from inception to final implementation. The course emphasizes the importance of understanding and operating within a corporate environment, utilizing formal cybersecurity methodologies, and integrating the skills and knowledge acquired throughout your program.
