This course introduces the principles of safe and ethical medication use in medical radiation clinical practice. Students will learn about drug classifications, pharmacokinetics, and administration, alongside strategies for managing patient safety, including recognising deterioration, responding to emergencies such as anaphylaxis, and escalating unexpected findings. It also addresses legal and ethical considerations such as consent and capacity, DNR orders, medical trespass, and the management of patients affected by substance use and behavioural risks.
