This course will introduce the underpinning physics theory for computed tomography (CT) imaging & its applications. All technical CT aspects related to the clinical applications including image quality will be covered in this course. Particularly the trade-offs between various CT characteristics and their impacts on its clinical applications will be included and studied. CT radiation dose will be the focus of this course both theoretically and in simulation.
Upon completion of this course, student will be able to demonstrate understanding of the principle of operation of CT scanners and their advantages and limitations in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
