This course is designed to build on your experience and theory knowledge gained in previous Nuclear Medicine courses and you will continue to learn how to apply this knowledge and skills in the clinical setting You will further develop your clinical, interpersonal and patient care skills. Development of your reflective practice abilities will empower you to take ownership of your professional development through identifying learning opportunities and development needs. On completion of this course you will be able to perform a range of basic Nuclear Medicine procedures.
In addition to your on-campus learning, you will attend clinical placement in a nuclear medicine department. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and skills for assessment in a clinical environment. Feedback from industry and/or the professional community will be integral to your experience and professional development. Your WIL clinical placement will take place at an allocated clinical department in accordance with AHPRA requirements.
If you have a long-term medical condition and/or disability you should contact the Program Coordinator or the Equitable Learning Services for further advice. Students need to be able to meet the inherent requirements of the program. At any time prior to or during your placement if there are concerns raised related to your fitness to practice the clinical coordinator can request that you gain full medical clearance to continue your placement.
