In this course, you will develop skills and knowledge in innovative digital prototyping tools, including Adobe Substance 3D, to explore the conceptual and technical development of textiles in real-world settings. Working with a humanitarian-focused client brief, you will consider how textiles function beyond fashion, as tools for safety, shelter, protection, communication, and resilience in times of crisis.
You will research how textiles can support communities experiencing humanitarian challenges and create digital patterns, textures, and structures that respond to identified needs. These designs will be mocked up and tested in virtual environments to explore functionality and impact.
Alongside building strong digital capabilities, you will learn how textile thinking can address complex global problems. Learning activities and assessments will further connect you with industry contexts relevant to your studies.
