This course is designed as a capstone experience to enable you to synthesise and integrate knowledge, connect theory and practice as well as demonstrate holistic achievement of program learning outcomes.
In this capstone course you will gain insight into specific national and global media and cultural industries. You will draw upon the skills and experience you have gained throughout the degree in order to begin your transition to a professional career and/or postgraduate study. At the end of the course your portfolio will demonstrate your abilities to operate within a rapidly changing media environment.
This is the designated Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course for Bachelor of Media. This course includes a work integrated learning experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.
You will participate in a professional practice experience, through an internship or industry focused project. You will also develop specific skills and knowledge related to career strategy, self-assessment and networking, which are all critical components for effective career development. If you undertake an internship, it will be of 40 hours duration and can be with one or more local or international employers. To enable flexibility, you can elect to extend your internship duration up to a maximum of 120 hours total. These additional hours will not be assessed but will be covered by RMIT insurance.

International placements must be registered and processed through RMIT Global Mobility.
