In this course, you will delve into the specialist domain of type design, to inform your typographic practice. The course integrates contemporary design skills with critical thinking and innovation, exploring a variety of approaches to the use of typefaces. You will learn about the cultural and design principles behind the shapes of letters and numbers, and the features and constraints of contemporary digital font formats. You will study techniques of drawing glyphs using traditional and digital tools. This course is part of the Typography minor and major in the Bachelor of Graphic Design.
