Course Summary
In this course, you will explore the design of printed and digital publications, with a focus on medium-specific typography for readability. The course integrates a knowledge of the history and theory of book design with contemporary design skills, focussing on the history of page composition and typography, as well as current editorial design practices across traditional and digital media. You will learn about grid systems, typographic hierarchy, the selection of typefaces and type families in editorial applications, and the combination of type and imagery. This course is part of the Typography minor and major in BP115P26 Bachelor of Graphic Design.
