In this course you will be introduced to fundamental concepts relating to land and place, and their meaning and consequences for society through law, policy and the economy. The impact of land management and how places are understood, represented and organised has implication for the environment, for social justice and for urban and rural change. Techniques for mapping land, viewing and analysing places, administering nature and biodiversity are each examples of this interaction. In this course you will learn about topics related to land and place, and their interaction with social processes, as well as methods and approaches to mapping and analysis, as well as critiquing past and present approaches and their impacts on society and the environment.
