Course Summary

In this course, you will investigate the historical, cultural and technological contexts for photographic image making and develop your ability to communicate visually. The course invites you to respond to an expanded field of photographic intersections, encouraging you to understand photography as a dynamic form of cultural expression and communication.
The course aims to set an emerging appreciation of the intersection of technical, conceptual, social, ethical and professional aspects of photography practice, and provide an entry point to photographic thinking. Through reflective and critical analysis of your own work and the work of others, you will begin to develop individual agency as a creative practitioner within the discipline of photography.
This course is a foundation course in the BP117P26 Bachelor of Photography.
