Course Summary

In this studio-based course, you will be introduced to material processes, skills, and methodologies fundamental to print practice. The course is structured around developmental projects where you will explore the connections between the technical and conceptual aspects of printmaking. By engaging with print techniques and their inherent alchemical, historical, and transformative principles, you will develop strategies to generate ideas, initiate artworks, and pursue experimental outcomes.?
Through hands-on exploration, you will create a series of investigative projects that test processes and technologies, focusing on innovative approaches to printmaking while maintaining a responsible artistic practice that respectfully engages with diverse cultural knowledges and contexts.??
Through the presentation of artworks, you will engage in critical reflection and feedback and continue to build your digital documentation of the evolution of resolved artworks, concepts, research and working methods.?
You will consider methods and processes that foreground safe practices and environmental sustainability.?
