Course Summary

In this course, you will continue working with specialised skills in ceramics, focusing on experimental clay materiality. You will develop strategies and methods of ceramics production to progress your art practice and build upon the skills developed in other courses.??
You will learn to experiment, test and resolve a range of ceramics processes methods and technologies such as an experimental approach to key ceramic materials in glaze formulation and their role in the development of unique surfaces. Extraneous factors such as found materials, kiln atmosphere, clay bodies and methods of application can promote unexpected outcomes.??
You will engage in methods and processes that foreground safe practices and consider environmental sustainability. Projects will encourage processes of documentation and reflection to inform and extend your studio work.?
