Course Summary

In this course, you will take an explorative approach to alternative methods of clay forming. Investigating different ceramic techniques through deconstructing and reconstructing, you will explore non-conventional sculptural methods to manipulate and develop form and surface qualities with clay. Projects will encourage material experimentation with a focus on practice and enquiry. In response to your own work, you will research and document a series of artists, works and ideas to inform and contextualise your ideas.?
You will engage in methods and processes that foreground safe practices and consider environmental sustainability. Projects will encourage processes of documentation and reflection to inform and extend your studio work.??
