Course Summary
In this course, you will establish a more substantial, independent studio practice and diversify your drawing options. Through workshops and experimentation, you will explore the language of drawing, expanding and deepening your understanding of how material and concept intertwine to create meaningful artworks.?
You will gain knowledge in specialised drawing production methods, making informed choices about concepts, materials, processes, and technologies for your art practice. This involves analysing contemporary artists' works, discussing matter and imagination, and combining diverse drawing media.?
Building on experience and research, you will develop sophisticated strategies for selecting concepts, materials, and processes to apply to drawing. Regular critiques and peer feedback will help you articulate the relationship between your ideas and chosen media.?
This course includes a simulated Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experience where you will plan and deliver a site-specific exhibition considering - not only the aesthetic and spatial attributes of your work in public - but also the installation, safety, and logistical requirements of such an activity.
