Course Summary

In this course, you will focus on the concepts of applying colour to metal. Vitreous enamel is a process using heat to fuse glass on metal creating lustrous and layered colours and patterns over copper, silver and steel. You will design and apply your personal iconography to metal and enamel. You will explore how to translate your ideas and drawings using vitreous enamels materials with processes such as stenciling, sifting, drawing, painting, foiling and graffito. Projects will encourage processes of documentation and reflection to inform and extend your studio work.?
