Course Summary

In this studio-based course, you will explore conceptual, spatial, and material processes that challenge traditional notions of artistic practice. The course investigates the expansive nature of the studio, considering site specificity, time-based approaches, post-studio practices, collaborative methods, and public spaces as dynamic environments for creative exploration.?
You will critically analyse the interplay between body, space, and psychological landscapes, drawing inspiration from historic and contemporary artists' strategies. Building on foundational skills, you'll develop a personal understanding of studio practice through developmental projects that connect technical and conceptual approaches.?
The course encourages you to generate ideas, initiate artworks, and pursue experimental outcomes while engaging respectfully with diverse cultural knowledges. Through artwork presentations, you will engage in critical reflection and feedback and continue to build your digital documentation of the evolution of resolved artworks, concepts, research and working methods.?
You will consider methods and processes that foreground safe practices and environmental sustainability.?
