Course Summary

Expanding on the "exploded studio" concept, this course challenges you to redefine collaborative art making and your understanding of what a 'studio' can be. You will apply specialised art making knowledge and skills across a range of expanded studio skills and concepts to broaden the scope of your developing studio practice. You will learn to develop creative solutions to constraints and challenges using practice-led methods of production. You will explore how different artists working in diverse cultural contexts initiate work via a range of starting points, experiments and expansions. You will build on previous research and experience to synthesise and experiment with new information enabling you to evolve series of interconnected art works. You'll explore how creative spaces can exist between people, ideas, and sites, investigating mobile, in situ, remote practices and the integration of digital technologies.

Through the presentation of artworks, you will engage in critical reflection and feedback and continue to build your digital documentation of the evolution of resolved artworks, concepts, research and working methods. You will create a series of developmental and resolved works with consideration of methods and processes that foreground safe practices and environmental sustainability and respectfully engage with diverse cultural knowledge and contexts.
