Course Summary

In this course, you will learn how workers' health and safety is influenced by the construction process, including the way in which construction projects are initiated, procured and delivered. You will investigate the health and safety impacts of decisions and actions by different project stakeholders along the project supply-chain.
You will critically examine organisational structures in construction projects, and explore the unique challenges and best practices in managing H&S in dynamic construction environments.
You will discuss historic case studies of things going well/wrong on construction sites and review different approaches and lessons about managing construction H&S around the globe. You will gain knowledge about health and safety improvement solutions and recommendations devised by recent research and their applications in real-world construction settings.
