Course Summary

In this course, you will conceptualise and develop a proposal for an original creative project that analyses and responds to a public site/location/space via a specifically developed research question and methodological framework. The project can be real or simulated, depending on opportunity.
You project concept and accompanying methodology with be informed by your explorations of theory and practice related to the discipline of public/social art. You will further explore and connect these research outcomes to your chosen site via a series of self-devised, focussed investigations and practical experiments in public space.
Through these research activities, you will gain an understanding of how to bring concept, practice, theory, method, and site together within a methodological framework to inform successful public art projects.
