In Capstone: Pop Culture Futures, students will interrogate the emerging forms, technologies, and global trends shaping popular culture. The course functions as a capstone for the Popular Culture major, offering students the opportunity to apply accumulated theoretical knowledge to an original research-driven or creative-practice project. Emphasising independent inquiry, critical making, and reflexive and reflective practices, students will develop a substantial portfolio piece-such as a digital artefact, media essay, video essay, podcast, zine, or traditional research paper-that explores the social, political, or aesthetic dimensions of future-oriented pop cultural production.
