In this course, you will gain practical experience in applying core security principles to operating systems, networks, and database environments. Topics include access control, authentication, system hardening, patch management, and intrusion detection. The course adopts a systems-based approach, helping you understand how various security layers work together to protect information assets. Through real-world scenarios and hands-on labs, you will learn to identify vulnerabilities, apply mitigations, and implement security policies using administrative tools. The course aims to build technical competence for roles such as security analyst, system administrator, or IT support technician with a security focus. This course is a core course in the Cyber Security Operations Major.
