This course is the first stage of a two-part Master’s Research Project, providing research industry experience. Designed to develop your advanced research, analytical, and professional engineering capabilities. In this first Part A, you will identify a complex research problem, critically evaluate existing knowledge through a systematic literature review, and establish a rigorous research framework. You will formulate research questions, define objectives, and develop a comprehensive methodology, ensuring alignment with advanced research principles and ethical considerations.
Emphasising intellectual independence, critical analysis, and methodological rigor, this course provides the foundation for OENG1295 (056922 ) Master’s Research Project Part B, where you will apply your research plan, generate new knowledge, and contribute to your field through a scholarly research output.
This course includes a work integrated learning (WIL) experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.
