Building on OENG1294 (056921) Master’s Research Project Part A, as research industry experience, this course focuses on executing an advanced, self-directed research investigation, applying established theories, and generating new knowledge or insights within your field. In this second part you will implement and refine your research methodology. You will generate findings against your research questions, then critically analyse and interpret your findings, and evaluate their impact within a broader academic and professional context.
Throughout this course, you will demonstrate intellectual autonomy, research integrity, and professional accountability by synthesising complex information and engaging in scholarly discourse. The course culminates in the completion of a substantial research thesis or equivalent scholarly output, demonstrating your ability to conduct independent, high-quality research at the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 9 standard.
This course includes a work integrated learning (WIL) experience in which your knowledge and skills will be applied and assessed in a real or simulated workplace context and where feedback from industry and/ or community is integral to your experience.
