Course Summary

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to lead, manage and support teams and individual workers effectively in an organisation that provides services to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
participants.
The unit applies to individuals who are making a transition from the role and responsibilities of a worker to a frontline leader in the disability sector. The unit involves understanding the disability sector, organisational goals
and values, and how the frontline leader can support the organisation's objectives. It also includes taking responsibility for work while using problem-solving strategies to develop and support others to achieve
organisational outcomes.
The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
This program is intended to provide existing and aspiring frontline leaders in the disability services sector with the skills and knowledge needed to successfully lead a team of frontline workers delivering services to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants, while contributing to the growth of their organisation.
