This course introduces you to innovative approaches that integrate creative modalities such as arts and nature-based approaches with counselling practice. You will explore creative expression such as visual arts, music, movement, drama, creative writing, storytelling, and nature encounters as potential therapeutic practice. You will consider how these creative approaches offer an alternative to traditional therapeutic approaches and how they facilitate wellbeing, self-discovery, autonomy and personal growth.
You will explore how creative modalities intersect with human rights and social justice advocacy. Using co-design principles, you will develop responsive approaches and gain skills in implementing creative practices that honour the needs and priorities of diverse populations, particularly those facing systemic barriers.
You will gain critical reflection skills and knowledge about how lived experience led co-design processes enhance therapeutic outcomes.
