Course Summary

This course will develop your capacity to reflect on and improve your own game design, art and development practices by studying the history and cultural impact of games.  

You will develop theoretical knowledge of the industry, structure, format and content of games and reflect on their impact in culture and society.  

You will develop the practical and conceptual knowledge you need to articulate how your own designs will contribute to, forward, impact, disrupt or draw influence from these histories. 

Emphasis will be placed on how studies and practice inform each other to produce innovative approaches to game design.
