Course Summary

In this course, you will focus on research and data collection methods to study players, conduct playtesting and analyse feedback with the aim to rigorously inform your design and development choices in iterative game design projects.

You will also consider broad approaches to digital user research (UX) principles, sociological and ethnographic methods in examining how players engage with digital media, and to design with their behaviours in mind.

You will work individually and in groups to complete and present a game design project that uses player testing, and data collection methods in multiple phases to produce a refined, playable outcome.
