Course Summary

In this course you will explore the history of popular music and examine how musical styles, cultural shifts, and the music industry have shaped one another over time. You will engage with major genres, influential artists, and key developments in both social and business history through listening, discussion, and critical analysis. By the end of the course, you will have developed an informed appreciation of popular music’s legacy alongside the skills to critically evaluate its ongoing impact on culture and industry today.
