This course addresses the current and many possible futures of the music industry. You will explore how changes in wider society and culture, when combined with technological change, will impact the future music industry, as well as how the music industry may impact future society. As part of this, you will analyse and evaluate the ways that music industry futures are articulated in everyday discourse and popular music media. By the end of the course, you will develop a critical understanding of the ways that current music industry theory, practice, and technologies simultaneously respond to and shape music industry futures.
