Course Summary

In this course you will establish the foundations of a sustainable writing practice and join a community of emerging writers. Through regular writing and research tasks, reading across diverse forms, and peer feedback sessions, you will develop habits and methods that support your growth as a writer. You will examine how writing is work and how reading is foundational to a writer’s life. This course establishes the practical and theoretical foundations for your three-year Creative Writing program and provides the grounding you need to situate yourself within the literary arts and culture sector.  

This course includes Industry Partnered Learning (IPL) activities, where you will have the opportunity to participate in authentic industry and community engaged activities and tasks to support your professional development and career planning such as Career Development Learning (CDL) and Industry Embedded Activities (IEA).
